I’m a multidisciplinary architect - designer - artist interested in the intersection between machine made and hand made. By embracing the mistakes of precision of fabrication processes, my pieces reflect a serendipity of error.

Nguyen explores the intersection between machine-made and hand-made; the relationship between digital and the analogue.

In the research and development of NNN Collection, Nguyen is a human printer orchestrating the use of technologies including a 3D ceramic printer, computer, handheld extruder, mixer, and human hand.

She inserts herself into the 3D printing process by weaving porcelain coils into the body of the vessel as it is being formed by the printer. This intervention, in an otherwise highly autonomous process, creates opportunities for intentional disruption, structural change, and material transfiguration. The process is a serendipity of error and a tension between precision and relinquishment of control. Her celebration of humanity results in works of richly textured surfaces and unfamiliar volumes.
